Participation in the fifth annual competition SaloneSatellite WorldWide Moscow

This year works displayed on the exhibition were dedicated, as it was in Milan, to the theme of wellness. An abstract idea that becomes a concrete emotion: the wellness of the body, mind and soul thanks in significant part to the objects that surround us.



Project «Pavone». Transformable furniture: modest table as a peacock spreads its tail and becomes a comfortable armchair, and when it’s necessary to empty space the armchair may be easily folded into the table.

Participation in exhibition “DESIGN FORMAT 2009” in Minsk (Belarus). Project “QFoglio”.

The seventh international specialised exhibition "the Design Format 2009", organised by the Belarussian Design Union, "Photoart" and "BelEXPO" enterprise, passes in Minsk in National exhibition centre " BelEXPO ". Participants: design studios, architectural bureaus, engineering firms, art galleries, furniture manufactures, publishing houses, advertising and modeling agencies, educational institutions. Free designers, artists, photographers, architects, planners, constructors and inventors. Suppliers of materials and technologies for design activity, manufacturers of design production. The main aim of the exhibition is search of the customer and the executor, the conclusion of contracts to order and execution of design projects, contacts in a trade, with suppliers of materials, tools and technologies; demonstration and estimation of real level of design and design-education system in the country; possibilities of introduction of design in spheres of manufacture, building, architecture, household interiors.

Participation in annual Italian contest “Promosedia International Design Competition — Caiazza Memorial Challenge 2009”.

Each year Promosedia announces a competition for ideas for chair design. The aim of the competition is to stimulate innovative creative ideas, which must however be technically feasible and designed to be mass produced. Submissions are invited which express originality and innovation and which identify the use and function of the chair, giving due consideration to ergonomics, choice of materials and the requirements for mass production. Entries should present ideas for INDOOR CHAIRS for either residential or contract use, making a significant use of wood (NB: designs of seats such as chaises longues, divans, stools and pouffes are ineligible).

Image of the chair “Resin” is created on the junction of two diverse materials, two textures. Visual prototype is wooden resin: transparent plastic legs as resin slowly flows out of wooden parts of the chair.

Participation in SaloneSatellite 2009

Participation in SaloneSatellite 2009 held within the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Euroluce (the International Lighting Exhibition) and the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition in Milan (Italy).





More than 700 young designers and 24 schools from all 5 continents were invited to the exhibition in 2009. Success was measured not only by the quantity but by the quality. SaloneSatellite many years ago became prestigious event, in which best "smithies" of young talents consider it as honour to participate. Students’ projects are always presented by Saint Martin’s London College, Pratt Institute, Parsons School from New York, Italian IED, and Dutch Design Academy from Eindhoven. SaloneSatellite stands are always populous, and are visited not only by the curious, but by the professionals from neighboring pavilions (by the way, it is unique pavilion of the exhibition, opened all time, for all and it is free).
In 2008 the young designers of SaloneSatellite focused their creativity on ecology and sustainability, while in 2009 they turned instead to health and wellness. It starts with a line, then another, and then another still. And gradually, an idea assumes form and substance, and finally takes flight, like a butterfly. This is design. An intuition that becomes rational thought, that evolves toward a final purpose and function. An abstract thought that becomes a concrete emotion: designing wellness, the wellness of the body, mind and soul. In other words, feeling healthy and hole when sitting, reclining, standing, moving, whether by ourselves or with others, thanks to the objects that surround us. Wellness is fundamental human need, a universal aspiration, and many of 700 designers underscore this fact by drawing inspiration and imagery from their own cultures. Designing wellness: this is challenge to young designers, a stimulus to create a better world, from head to toe.
