Linear perspective
The main task of the project was to transform the gathering of cramped rooms into one spacious volume, without breaking thus their functional role.
In other words to coordinate typical two-room apartment with up-to-date idea about comfort, not forgetting about bachelor habits that demand the most progressive decisions.
It was due to reshape literally each corner of the apartment: former corridor turned into present bathroom, a stockroom at a balcony – into a cabinet, spare entresol – into «the pure sky above a head». To increase the space it was necessary to deepen visual height of a ceiling. Glossy materials of deep dark colors were applied to this purpose. Mirrors created illusion of additional spaces and intricate game of reflections.
Wall surfaces are executed by a principle – «nothing superfluous». The abundance of white colour dominates over a dark background in a combination with specks of a transparent-blue colour in decorative elements and finish. On the one hand, it gives special lightness and freshness, with another – perfectly promotes sensation of open space of a premise.
Ultramodern glass surfaces and impregnations of intricate patterns of wall-papers make accents.
A glass screen became the main "hero" of the project – it differentiates three functional zones, fills space with illusory volume, is reflected from smooth surfaces, emphasizes unexpected prospects of the apartment.
Heart of the apartment is a spacious living room, the room united with kitchen and hall. When visitors come, the room turns to mini-club with a house cinema – for this purposes it’s enough to shift high chairs closer to a bar rack and switch on a series of decorative lamps on a wall.
The bedroom is separated from a cabinet only by an light drappery, it is enough to draw the curtains and we receive chamber intimate space.
The apartment is plentifully decorated by effective art-objects: an abstract panel-wave in the hall, surrealistic light cubes on the wall in living room.
The furniture has also been created by author's sketches.
Its laconic forms perfectly supplement idea of free "perspective" space.
The soaring view from windows is increased by a series of photos made from height of the bird's flight.
